1st Customer Review : Pricey but feature rich; no more accurate than cheaper units
For starters, the obvious: Yes, this Leica unit costs a pretty penny. I honestly don't think the results it gives me are any more accurate than what I would get from the $100 Bosch model. But it does have some pretty nice / neat if not useful features.
This Disto model has a large screen that has enough room to show the last four measurements. It keeps the last 20 shots in memory, so they can be scrolled back for reference.
A common complaint of other units is their lack of needed measuring units. The Disto does display fraction of inches in feet/inches (7' 1 3/16"), inches (85 3/16"), as well as decimals of each (85.2 in or 7.10 ft).
On "problem" is sometimes too much accuracy. There's no way to step down resolution to 16ths, so I'm stuck up/down converting from 32nds, which I've gotten used to but isn't ideal. For framing, I'd rather deal with a measurement that reads 76 3/16" instead of 76 7/32".

Very expensive, but also very functional and a well thought out design. Memory for multiple measurements that eliminates the need to bring along a paper and pencil.
