1st Customer Review : I should have spent more on a nicer unit
For $16 shipped, I can't complain too much. The laser works well on this thing and it comes with a battery. The backlight works well and the display is clear.
Instructions aren't very good, not that they are overly necessary. My biggest complaint is the temperature variation on this thing. It is in the mid 30's outside; I opened the door, took some outside measurements (which seemed a few degrees off), then all of a sudden all other temps I took indoors read much colder.
Eventually this thing evened back out temp wise, but I never seem to get consistent temp readings between uses. For my needs, I simply needed to see temp differences between different items during the same usage time (using it to test bearing temps when towing our boat and testing inlet/outlet temps on our furnace for some heat pump troubleshooting). For those needs it will be just fine. But it you need accurate and consistent temperature readings, this is not the unit to buy.

2nd Customer Review : useless
This product does not measure the temp, it will give you some bogus readings and the temp is so far off that it told me a light was freezing the first time and the second time it was 22 degrees and the third time it was 0 and so on. Do not waste your money on this product. Not to mention the battery was dead when I received it.

Very useful product, it not only can detect the temperature changes around window sills. It also can detect the ceiling water leakage, because the leak part has a low temperature. :)
