Yup, this is the one to get.
This non-contact IR thermometer (with laser) has higher temp. readings/range (up to 2372degrees F). I can reach "hard to get" spots, moving objects, dangerous areas/objects all from a safe distance. Optical resolution is 50 to 1, offers adjustable emissivity of energy.

2nd Customer Review : Precision temperatures for the professional chef
I laughed when they said this thing was perfect for the "professional" in the ad, because I'm actually a professional chef and this infrared thermometer has quickly become my favorite new utensil. It's perfect for soups, and even roasts. There's also a laser pointer attached, which I've begun to use as a way to communicate and point to things across the kitchen to staff. Great invention!
