1st Customer Review : Does not work with thinner, high-tooth count blades.
This is a well-constructed, powerful saw. The default 24-tooth blade that came with the saw fit well and worked well. However, when I tried to use a Diablo 60-tooth blade, I found that the blade was too thin to fit the saw. Even when the nut that holds the blade to the axle is fully tightened, there is sideways `play' in the blade, and the safety `slip' system engaged as soon as I tried to use the saw.
I called Skil customer service. The guy said that `this is a tool intended for home use and is not designed to support such high quality blades'. He suggested that I return this and upgrade to a much more expensive product.
I am almost 100% positive that he was bullshitting and that the problem was a manufacturing defect in this particular saw. The manual makes no reference to `minimal blade thickness'. But who am I to argue when the company representative wants me to return the product! So that is what I did.

I haven't used this much yet but it is a good saw. I would just like the laser to be easier to follow.

MY HUSBAND LIKED THIS GIFT. HE ESPECIALLY LIKED THE LASER AND SKILSAW HAS ALWAYS BEEN A GOOD PRODUCT. WE WOULD BUY AGAIN.
