1st Customer Review : Very handy
I am a big fan of all the plug-in accessories for the iPhone. I mean, the iPhone is really a little computer, and why not sell more cool accessories like this? Projectors, heat sensors, movement sensors - bring it on! This is an EXCELLENT laser measuring tool. Note: This item works with the iPhone 4 and 4S connections - it does NOT have the "lightning" connection of the iPhone 5.
I have an iPhone 4S and it worked very well.
You download the app - that took seconds over my home wi-fi, and you plug in this unit and turn it on via the app. You get a laser dot that you point at whatever wall you're measuring too, press a "button" on the screen, and boom - you have your measurements.
* Note - it measures from the BASE of the unit to the wall you pointed at.
It works very well and was accurate for me. I thought it was just great! You can also add or subtract your next measurement from the one you just took - I thought that was neat. In time, they could improve...

2nd Customer Review : Great laser measure
Having recently moved to a new house, this laser measure has been very useful. A red laser shines on a spot (e.g,. a wall, a friend's hand, etc.), and it will tell you the distance in inches, meters, or feet.
The way it works is that you slide your iPhone into the slot, and launch their app. Know their app is a little buggy (sometimes crashes), and lacks some features (e.g., sharing or saving measurements), only displays 3 measurements at a time, but it does the key thing you need: tells you a measurement.
I have confirmed the measurements several times, in different scenarios, with a traditional tape measure.
In the photo, you can see there's a little block on the bottom of your phone. This is where the measurement starts. So you put the whole device flush on a wall, etc, and then it measures (within 2-3 mm accuracy) to whatever the laser shines on.

I rarely start reviews off this way, but here goes: This is a five-star product, and let me tell you why.
It works! It works really well. It did force me to upgrade my iPhone software (not a biggie) and download an app (free), but after that was done, I was up and running. You just install the batteries in the device, stick your phone on it, and start measuring. You can measure just by taking one pop with the laser, or, you can add and subtract measurements on the fly to get other dimensions. For example, if you need to know how tall something is, you measure from the floor to the ceiling, press the minus key, then measure from the top of the object to the ceiling. The device automatically subtracts the smaller dimension from the larger and presto, you've got the height of your object. Measuring for carpet in two rooms? Measure wall to wall in the first, press plus, measure wall to wall in the second, and you've got it. Very intuitive and easy, and anything that makes parts...
