This laser line tool measures 2 x 2-1/2 x 4-3/8 inches and weights just 1 pound, so it practically fits in the palm of your hand. It includes both a pouch and a hard-shell carrying case to help protect it from the rough realities of construction work, and it's also available in a system package that includes the SLD laser detector for expanded utility in exterior applications. The PLS4 is powered by three standard AA-sized batteries (included), and it can run over 25 hours between battery changes when using one beam (12.5 hours when using both beams). All PLS tools are designed and manufactured to meet strict quality control guidelines, and the PLS4 is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
Simplify Layout Tasks and Increase Productivity
Whether you're a carpenter, plumber, HVAC specialist, or general contractor, you know that layout tasks and quality-control are essential and time-consuming components of every construction project. The PLS4 lets you accomplish these jobs quickly, accurately, and without relying on complicated, time-consuming setup.
The PLS4 projects its cross line laser beams at over 180 degrees, which means the level line projects wall to wall wrapping a room, and the plumb line projects behind the tool allowing the laser line to wrap a plumb line completely around a room or door opening. This versatile tool can help with everything from acoustic ceiling or door and window installations to wallpaper, drywall, and tile jobs. And industry-leading brightness makes sure that these lines are easy to see.
The hybrid PLS4 has a cross line accuracy of ±1/8-inch at 30 feet with a 100-foot visible range indoors (depending on lighting conditions). Plumb point-to-point accuracy is ±1/4-Inch at 100 feet.
PLS Benchmark Dampening Ensures Consistent, Reliable Layout Results
Like all PLS point and line laser alignment tools, the PLS4 is fully self-leveling, and it takes full advantage of the patented PLS pendulum design and magnetic dampening to deliver real, usable results. Dampening is the settling down effect on the laser beam, and thanks to this advanced technology, all PLS point and line lasers settle down instantly when moved to a new layout point.
Additionally, this system compensates for job site vibrations caused by compressors, generators, and other heavy equipment, preventing the laser point from "jumping" around and ensuring that your laser delivers accurate, usable information. This helps your team get jobs done right the first time to save you time and money.
Three-Year Limited Warranty
PLS has upgraded its warranty from a single year to a three-year limited warranty. During this warranty period, your PLS product will be repaired or replaced (with the same or similar model at our option), without charge for either parts or labor, through PLS.
If your laser tool ever does need to be serviced, PLS offers fast, 48-hour factory turnaround on repairs or replacements to help ensure that your PLS laser line tool continues to provide accurate performance and improved productivity for the full duration of your career.

1st Customer Review : Great! Gives us the PLS180's only missing feature...
This is a welcome addition! After the folks at Pacific Laser Systems telling me they weren't going to market this laser due, in their opinion, a lack of demand and/or purpose, I was totally surprised to see it.
Two-plus years ago, I picked up a PLS180, which has proven to be the most incredibly useful tool during a major home renovation and foundation project. But in the review I posted here on Amazon, my one complaint was the lack of a plumb point, which comes in really handy for laying out walls and for some other ceiling work I was doing. For instance, it's much easier to do a plumbing or framing layout on the floor, then project the critical points up to the ceiling, rather than measuring and marking the layout on the ceiling.
In any case, I then purchased an Agatec CPL50 Self Leveling Line Laser to supplement the...

2nd Customer Review : I would say this is a necessary tool for people in the trades who do a lot of interior layout......
I'm an electrician - residential primarily. This is the type of tool which took me a while to purchase because I can sort of get by without it, but the process takes longer. After reading most of the reviews and repeated visits to the PLS site, I settled on this unit. I immediately checked it for accuracy with my 6' Stabila level, and followed the instruction's plumb test....everything is right on. We are currently working on a custom house where can/ pendant/ chand/ and fan/ 3-0, 4-0 boxes are at varying relationships to their adjacent rafters and hip(beams) = I've used the plumb dots here and the vert line here to establish locations and check layout. It feels like cheating.
The plumb dots will operate separately or with the lines - the plumb dots have their own button. Likewise with the lines. By pressing the line button repeatedly, you can choose from vert, horiz, both on together, both on together fixed, and one more press turns it off. There's a third button for a...
