This system package includes the SLD laser detector for expanded utility in exterior applications, as well as both a pouch and a hard-shell carrying case to help protect the tool from the rough realities of construction work. It's also available in a tool-only package (without the SLD).
This laser line tool measures 2 x 2-1/2 x 4-3/8 inches and weights just 1 pound, so it practically fits in the palm of your hand. The PLS4 is powered by three standard AA-sized batteries (included), and it can run over 25 hours between battery changes when using one beam (12.5 hours when using both beams). All PLS tools are designed and manufactured to meet strict quality control guidelines, and the PLS4 is backed by a three-year limited warranty.

I had used a PLS system about two years ago. This is an upgrade from that system used. It works perfectly for my applications. The manual needs some attention. The carrying case is really good as well. Works well for cabinet installations. Makes the job go much faster. Best brand of laser I have used.

2nd Customer Review : Exterior Use in Deck Building
I do a wide range of projects inside and out and finally bit the bullet and bought this well rounded laser. The guys seemed to like it's performance so far using all functions. We work well within 100 feet so accuracy I hope won't be an issue. even in bright sun, we could work with it using some laser glasses. just depends on what you're doing to determine which laser will work best. PLS was recommended to me by a family member who is a commercial steel worker, he swears by them. I'll get my hands on it more in teh coming months but so far it's good stuff
3rd Customer Review : Bright and easy to use
I got this laser to hang cabinets and such, and to also plumb walls and hang can lights. The combination of vertical, horizontal and plumb beam make this a very useful tool. The laser is a nice bright red, and it is fine enough for real precision. It is also bright enough to use indoors in a well lit room.
