1st Customer Review : Good Enough for Basic Professional Use.
I bought this about 6 months ago and use it all the time. The item shown on the product page is the second design, the first Tek4 laser measure had a slew of features, TOO many, imho. This measure has less features than the original but they're more than what the average person will need. Some pros might need features beyond the Pythagorean formulation & stake out function and thus opt for a higher end name. I bring this toy to every estimate, job site & meeting. I've also used it for some small projects at home. To list (and briefly explain) ALL the features would make for a looong review. For $100 it's priced just right for DIY'er & Pro alike.
Held back star #5 for 2 reasons: 1) it's part of a 'proprietary platform' requiring it's own charger & battery (both included btw), 2) I haven't used it enough to gauge durability.

2nd Customer Review : Bosch DLR130K versus Ryobi
I was considering the Ryobi or the Bosch DLR130K as they are both about the same price. I was initially attracted to the Bosch because of its brand name. However, I ultimately decided on the Ryobi for the following reasons: (1) The Ryobi is back lit [while the Bosch is NOT] and I always struggle to read non-back lit devices in non-ideal lighting conditions, (2) The Ryobi comes with a litium battery...whereas the Bosch takes AA batteries, (3) I already have the Ryobi Tek 4 laser level and other Ryobi tools and was very happy with them.
Why didn't I give it 5 stars? Primarily because I prefer the size and look of the Bosch and wished the Roybi was styled a little better. Although, I am quite happy with my Ryobi device and I like it better than the Bosch for the reasons mentioned above.
3rd Customer Review : I am a Professional and this is an EXCELLENT tool
This tool is excellent. Try to find another tool with this range and accuracy at this price point and you'll find very few. This has the advantage of having a rechargeable battery that lasts for a VERY long time of continuous use. In addition, it is part of the very impressive ryobi tek4 tool lineup. I cannot say enough good things about this lineup of tools from ryobi. I currently own this item (laser distance measurer), the small flashlight (very very bright and great battery life), the lockbox (awesome lockbox with great features to know WHO has been in and out and WHEN), the plumb/level cross line laser level (AWESOME!, clear, concise, super bright laser lines. Best I've ever used), and the mp3 player (not great....never even use it. This device could use some serious improvement). I have been very surprised at the quality of these tools. It is OUTSTANDING.
