2nd Customer Review : Good, but could be better
I just got this tripod today. (The day after I ordered it with super saver shipping. Kudos Amazon) I'm happy with it, but with a little work it would be great. The tripod is well built and is as solid as can be expected for 10' of working height. It will wobble a bit if disturbed with a 3 pound rotary level on top, but it seems to settle exactly where it started. I was hoping it would be stable enough in its lowest position for an optical level, but there is some play where the head attaches to the shaft that would make it unsuitable for a device that must be touched frequently. I think I can correct the play, but I shouldn't have to. Also, the "retractable rubber covers" for the spikes are clear rubber tubing which the points of the spikes can protrude through. I would not consider setting this thing up on a hardwood floor with those covers. The spikes are threaded into the legs (8mm x 1.25mm), so I'm going to look for suitable feet for indoor use.

What a breeze it was to set up this tripod. I love the durablity of this tripod. The only downfall that this tripod has are the clasps on the chains that hold the legs together. I still give it a 5 star rating as that is such a small item to fix. I love how it raises and lowers. It's very simple to use and very efficient.
