1st Customer Review : Never knew how much I needed this thing!
Ok, so for $100 I was on the fence of whether I actually "needed" this thing. I do several home projects and having a quality laser level can speed up and ease those projects along. Well, now that I've owned this for several months and used it on a number of projects (painting, hanging photos, installing new stair rails, etc), I can honestly say that this is definitely worth the purchase price. The laser level shoots a beam that is very tall and wide, you will only need to reposition this thing a few times to cover an entire small to medium sized room if you're wanting to run a line horizontally all the way across the room. For the stair railing, to cut holes for the balusters, the way you'd need to do it without a level such as this is mark your position on the top rail, then hang a plumb bob and mark the bottom spot. 2nd Customer Review : Very Good Laser Level
I bought this level with the intention of using it for a basement project - installing a drop ceiling. It worked very well and have no complaints. Its not the highest quality but for the basic do-it-yourself home owner, it's more than adequate.
Pros:
* Comes with tripod
* Comes with carrying case
* Comes with red glasses for work in bright(er) environments
Cons:
* Tripod only extends up to about 5-1/2 feet
* Doesn't spin very smoothly on its base
I needed to draw a horizontal line around the perimeter of an oddly shaped basement at a height of about 7-1/2 feet. So, the tripod needed to be placed atop of a platform of some left over 5-gal buckets. The longest distance that the level had to draw a line was about 37 feet. At that distance it was still crisp and clear.

3rd Customer Review : Great support, a couple of product issues
This is a super product, comparable to substantially more expensive units, and in a handy carrying case to boot. The projected lines are clear and thin (that's good), it self-levels wonderfully, and you even get a nicely made tripod with a hand crank and adjustable legs.
So why didn't I give this 5 stars?
1. The unit arrived with something loose inside the sealed level housing, rattled like a child's toy.
2. With the included tripod you can only get as high as 48" from the floor, not over five feet as one of the other reviewers stated. This makes it not quite tall enough to set for the bottom of kitchen cabinets, which are usually around 54" from the floor. You'll have to put the tripod on blocks or paint cans to lift it up.
