1st Customer Review : An Accurate Temp Gun.
Checked the accuracy with 2 different thermostats/thermometers and the deviation was +/- .3 Fahrenheit from about 2" back. I saw about a +/- .9 when 8-12" back from target. Pretty good to say the least.
To help save your battery it shuts off automatically after about 5 seconds of non use.
The readout is lit by a blue backlight that is very bright.
Great purchase, especially when other temp guns are almost double or triple the price of the IRT207. Recommended highly.

2nd Customer Review : Really fun to play with
I saw a good deal at the store so I bought one. I've always wanted to try one of these things out.
It measures the surface temperature of anything instantly. You can use it from clear across any room. I checked it for accuracy (boiling water, etc) and it is perfect. I have used it with many things so far such as skin, liquids, light bulbs, LCD tv, cell phone, ac adapters plugged into wall outlets, and more. It makes me wonder how much power is wasted on AC adapters that are done charging. They sit at 100-105 degrees mostly even though they are not being used. This is just from wasted energy.
Some nice features are that it works in in both Celsius and FahrenHeit. You can switch between them instantly with a touch of a button. As I said, range is really good on it and it works instantly when you pull the trigger. It has a red laser pointer built in to help you aim. This can be turned on or off. 3rd Customer Review : Every House Should Have One
It is accurate, fast, fun, practical, and inexpensive. I monitor my air conditioner by accurately measuring the temperature difference out of the ceiling vent versus the temperature of the air going in at the air return. I've been able to head off problems before the normal homeowner even knows they have one. Measure the temperature of your refrigerator to be sure it's at or below the USDA recommended 38 degrees to minimize spoiling. This tool has a thousand homes uses. And it didn't cost a fortune. Anyone in the trades has to have one but at the Amazon price this is a tool for every homeowner. I haven't abused it so I don't know how it will stand up to dropping or kicking, but I can say I have't changed the battery in over 6 months of use.
