I purchased the temperature probe to check our house for hot spots in walls ond ceiling and the pool water temp. The other use is to check food temperature on stove or in BBQ. The most enjoyable use though is to use the laser light for cats to chase. A fascinating tool with unlimited uses worth the money we spent.

Very useful for the everyday engine guy/girl, but also good for home issues! Price is well worth its multi-purpose uses.
Be careful to not drop it on hard surfaces as this would be my only negative point of this product.

This works just as described. It is great for checking HVAC output temps, tracking air leaks around doors/windows and checking the temperature of just about anything you don't want to touch or can't touch. It has a laser to help you point, but the temperature is read by an infrared sensor. It will read a small area from about 20 feet.
