Most importantly, the DW074KD's beam is clear and easy to see up to 100 feet indoors and up to 600 feet (in diameter) when outside. And to help protect against less-than-perfect weather conditions, the housing is extra durable.

I thought about buy a cheaper one, but time is money, this is so easy, pull it out of bag and set it up, no problem, can even put on hood of truck, I got mine, used it 14 day straight 8 hrs a day and batterys still working, levels its self in a min or less. Masonry Contractor, Ca

2nd Customer Review : Fabulous! ...so far
I bought this and put it right to work.
I use it on the average, once a week..
The batteries (2 D batteries) it came with, didn't last an hour. Once I put new energizers in it, I haven't had to change them yet. It's been over a month. I originally had a DeWalt manual level laser. When it went bad I called a DeWalt service center, he advise me "off the record" to buy this one. It was "the best bang for the buck". I paid $380.00. To fix my old one it would have been $200.00. And this new one is auto level!
When you turn this baby on, you can hear the gears spinning/leveling for about 3-5 seconds, then voala! I tested it out of level as well. If it's knocked out of level, it stops, re-levels and then continues. The only problem this posses, is if it's knocked too far off, and you don't notice, you might throw all your new measurements off because it won't have the same zero as your original mark... Anyway, over all, a big fat 5! Saves tons more time over the old one, and...

Good laser - the bag is sturdy and has heavy duty foam to keep each piece secured. Easy to use, and self leveling works perfectly. Shot in my 100 foot retainer wall within 1/16. Shipping was a bit slow from the seller, but still arrived within 10 days.
