1st Customer Review : Nice but you need adapter for laser level
This is a very nice unit but you MUST purchase a 5/8-11 by 1/4-20 Threaded Female to Male Tripod Adapter for this tripod to be used with a laser level.

2nd Customer Review : Good for the price
If you're going to use this for something more serious than laying out a youth soccer field you may get a little aggrivated. Hard to keep level. leg locks not very positive. Might be OK for rotating remote operated laser at close ranges on hard sufaces. Spending an extra $30 will get you a good deal more quality. I think I can make this one better with a few minor shop moifications (a little epoxy here, some better fastners there). Really, I think its ok for occasional homeowner use, my standards are just higher than my income.
3rd Customer Review : Lightweight performance
I bought this because it has a flat top to replace my curved top CST/Berger tripod. This is labeled as "Heavy Duty" on the tripod. Believe me; it is not. The CST is hugely more sturdily built and stable in the ground. There's just no comparison in the quality - the CST wins completely. This has thin round supports and the legs are curved to fit and slide along the round supports. The aluminum is so thin that the legs feel very flimsy in comparison to the CST.
There is an open slide that the screw for mounting the level goes into. This allows you to make adjustments in position so your plumb bob hangs exactly over the pin. In the CST tripod, this slide is metal. In this DeWalt tripod, that piece is flimsy plastic.
So, on top of all that, the unit delivered to me by Amazon was someone else's return. The return shipping label was still on the DeWalt box - which was packed inside of an Amazon box for shipping to me. Only the name/address of the person...
